Elevator Pitch |
When a bird strike disables both engines of an Airbus A320 shortly after take-off from LaGuardia, the pilots have moments to decide on their emergency action, and decide to ditch the plane on the Hudson River. There are no casualties but the NTSB (National Transport Safety Board) seem intent on proving that they could have made it to an airport. |
Content |
Many views of the crash taking place, and additionally some nightmare scenarios of the plane crashing into New York. Shots of Sully interacting with the New York public who proclaim him as a hero, and much time spent in the investigation where he is adversarially interrogated. |
A View |
The scenes of the plane crashing are spectacular, but make the most of them, because that’s really all there is. In my other life I have an interest in marine accidents and have been unimpressed by the NTSB investigations, but surely had they been as negligent as portrayed in the movie they would have been shut down, a point made in one or two newspapers. |
