Elevator Pitch |
A couple of young private detectives in Boston are hired to find a child who has been taken from her neglectful mother, whose boyfriend has been involved in the theft of some drug money. The policemen on the case do not seem to be making any progress, and what leads they have are provided by the private detectives and their underworld connections. A funeral is held for the child, but they have no body. Is she still alive? |
Content |
A lot of time spent in the dark, or in gloomy underworld hangouts, talking to criminals as the detectives get on with their part in the job. Distressing scenes in grim houses inhabited by drug addicts and deviants. Quite a bit of exposition mainly in bars. One shootout, no sex. |
A View |
This was much liked by the critics and the general public, but honestly I had a job to follow it. This might have been because of the Boston accents which apparently the actors used effectively, and so would be understood by American audiences. Probably a watch if you like gloomy underworld stuff. |
