Elevator Pitch Ethan Hunt has retired and is getting married, but is recalled for a mission to rescue a former female colleague from the evil Owen Davian. Thereafter he captures Davian, who is rescued by his henchman and takes Hunt’s fiancé prisoner, forcing him to go the Shanghai to steal an object called “the rabbit’s foot” in exchange for her life.
Content A number of striking set pieces where the Mission Impossible team take on the bad guys with pistols, machine guns and explosives, sometimes winning, sometimes losing. Excitement involving disguises, rubber faces and ingenious action. Tension as the hero and his girlfriend’s lives are threatened in the slums of Shanghai.
A View I have seen the previous two MI films, once on a bus in Mexico but my rule is that I only review what I have watched in the last few days and this is the first of the franchise to be reviewed here. I liked it. It was clever and most importantly the director made the action sequences crisp, so we did not suffer from action fatigue.
