Elevator Pitch |
A mutant “Nightstalker” unsuccessfully attacks the president of the USA, causing anti-mutant sentiment in the country and allowing scientist William Stryker to get permission to attack Professor Xavier’s school for young mutants, to which Wolverine has just returned. Stryker also has Magneto imprisoned in a metal free cell, so the X-Men must rescue him to combat the new menace. |
Content |
A lot of mutant action as they make use of their superpowers. Set pieces within the school and the “Cerebro” for good and bad reasons. Quite a bit of time in the X-Men’s aircraft. Magneto’s assistant “Mistique” often seen naked – but she’s covered in scales. Although little blood, lots of unimportant people are killed, most by being stabbed by Wolverine. |
A View |
The plot involved Mistique appearing to be someone else quite a bit since she is a shapeshifter, and also for Stryker to have mental control of various of the X-Men at times, so you have to be watching pretty carefully to understand what is going on. The original script included too many characters apparently, and so some were dropped and some cut out after shooting. There were still too many for me. |
