Summary: Corey Cunningham, a young man living in Haddonfield accidently kills a child which he is babysitting and thereafter is given a hard time by the youth of the town, which seems to awaken his evil subconscious when he is thrown off a bridge. He is attacked by a vagrant who he kills and when taking refuge in a chamber within a drain is confronted by Michael Myers. Thereafter Corey kills others, sometimes with the help of Michael Myers, but things come to a head when he starts dating Laurie Strode’s grand daughter. Laurie senses his evil nature and tries to prevent him from continuing with the relationship. Corey with the help of Michael Myers continues to take revenge on the townsfolk, but now has Laurie in his sights as well. A final confrontation is inevitable.

Content: No sex or nudity but some drinking. Laurie seems to be a bit of a drunk.  We follow Corey’s situation which starts off with the tragic baby sitting event then his reclusive behaviour. He finds himself in a chamber accessed by a drain where he meets Michael Myers. It is implied that Michael has been hiding there for some time. Laurie interacts with her grand daughter who is a bit wayward, and things get worse once she is going out with Corey. They ride about on a motor cycle. In the dark people are stabbed some it seems for very little reason other than visual effect. There are flashbacks to previous outings.

A View: I can hardly believe that this is the 13th Halloween film. There are apparently a lot of references to previous films of the franchise, which might or might not please the fans. Not all that many people have seen it up to now. There were only half a dozen people in the screen where we saw it in Madrid, but it may pick up a bit over the next week or two. I found it confusing. Was it a story about Corey or about Michael Myers? Was Michael Myers real or a supernatural influence? If he was real how could he have been living in a  drain for years? If he was not real….The questions go on. If your granny wants to see it tell her to go by herself.

Let’s try to remember Jamie Lee Curtis for her other iconic roles. Check out Trading Places, True Lies and A Fish Called Wanda. She is great in all of them.
