Elevator Pitch |
A group of friends meet weekly for “Game Night” where they play many well known board games. Two of them have married having met at a quiz night, but are unable to conceive. It is determined that the problems may be the man’s anxiety due to his relationship with his more successful brother. And as if on cue the brother turns up, and invites them to a game night he has arranged in his luxurious rented mansion. When they meet he reveals that he has arranged for a murder mystery for them to solve; People with guns turn up, and the brother is apparently abducted, requiring the gamers to get on the trail – but is it really a game? |
Content |
Awkward moments with the policeman next door who the gamers are trying to avoid, dramatic moments as they all go on the trail of the abducted brother. There is shooting and some car chases and one terrific aircraft crash, and a lot of twists and turns as they and we try to determine what is real and what is part of the game. No nudity or sex, but some drinking and references to drugs, and a running joke about one of the participants have sex with someone famous. |
A View |
Saw this in a screen in Madrid. There were probably 100 of us and it was refreshing to be watching a film during which people were laughing out loud. The critics liked it and it has made a lot of money so far. So worth the ticket price if you enjoy slightly off-beat comedies, particularly if you are a fan of the stars, who do really well and appear to be enjoying themselves. |
