Elevator Pitch |
When an injured Union soldier is given sanctury in a southern girl’s school, where the owner, one teacher and a small number of girls remain. As he recovers there is an increasing level of sexual tension amongst the women. |
Content |
The southern mansion housing the school features a lot. All of the women and girls at different times show interest in the soldier, and he in turn flirts with them. There are moments of violence and one sex scene but no nudity. |
A View |
The director won the “Best Director” award at Cannes and this was generally liked by the critics, but we should face it, this is really a melodrama and for my money it was played far too straight and so lacked dramatic tension. So both my wife and I were bored, except by the medical scenes which were a bit disturbing. |
