Elevator Pitch |
Chilli Palmer is taking a shot at the LA music business when the man he is talking to is shot – dead. But he teams up with the widow and they go on to promote the career of a young singer aided and abetted by a plethora of larger than life characters. |
Content |
Scenes in music venues, nightclubs and recording studios where quite a bit of singing is done. The stars rub up against each other and at once stage dance together as in Pulp Fiction. Plenty of interaction between the good and the bad with some shooting. A lot of drinking but no drugs and no nudity. |
A View |
I am an Elmore Leonard fan and I felt that this movie managed to present his characters pretty well. The critics did not like it much because it was too “knowing”, but it is fun and well worth a watch for nothing or very little. |
