Feast of Love (2007)

Released 2007 Rating (UK) 15
Source of story A book of the same name by Charles Baxter
Writer/s Script Allison Burnett
Director Robert Benton
Starring Morgan Freeman, Greg Kinnear, Radha Mitchell, Billy Burke, Selma Blair, Alexa Davalos, Toby Hemingway, Jane Alexander, Fred Ward
Elevator Pitch A college professor on sabatical spends time in the local coffee shop observing the lives and loves of the proprietor and his employeees. The relationships are shadowed in some way by third parties, lesbian lovers, former affairs and impeding illness. Even the professor must contend with his own demons.
Content A lot of time in the coffee shop and views of Portland while the prof narrates. A surprising amount of sex and nudity – but I suppose that’s what it’s about.
A View Apparently the director was a fan of the book, but whatever the book had the film doesn’t. At this point I am trying to think of something nice to say about it – but I can’t. It was well intentioned but dull.
