Elevator Pitch Gru, the most villanous person in the world, has only one rival the youthful Vector, who steals the shrinking machine with which Gru is intending to miniaturise the moon. He decides to adopt three orphan girls, who he sees have been able to gain access to Vector’s stronghold on a charity mission, but the result is far from what he expected.
Content Gru has working for him the now famous Minions who effectively dominate the film and are lots of fun. Many scenes in Gru’s dark and forbidding house, and in the underground workshops. Some chases in unlikely flying machines and much else.
A View This is a delightfully presented work, which has spawned a number of sequels, including a film for the minions themselves. I really liked it as much for the ingenuity of the inventions as anything else. Children will love the gun constructed  by mistake instead of a “dart” gun.
