Summary: Basically, in the Underworld, vampires are fighting werewolves for control of the dark environment. They use many weapons including firearms loaded with special bullets. You may remember that Selene, the uberfighter has been outlawed from the vampire covens for killing one of the leaders, but because they are in trouble she is rehabilitated. But there is betrayal in the coven as others vie for the leadership, and Selene is framed for the murder of numerous young fighters. Meanwhile the Lycans are massing for attack, with the intention of locating Selene’s daughter who is a Lycan/vampire hybrid. Selene together with David, a possible vampire leader, escape to the Nordic vampire coven followed by Marius, an enhanced werewolf and the Lycan horde. Out there alone with only David to help, can Selene survive?
Content: There is one implied sexual contact and no drinking except for blood which is slurped quite a lot. So now, as well as the Lycans fighting the vampires, sometimes by turning into werewolves and sometimes using automatic weapons loaded with special bullets there is the problem of internal rivalry in the covens, and the vampires shout at each other a lot. The Nordic vampires wear white instead of black and, fortunately, have a means of restoring dead people to life. As well as all the other things vampires can do, the Nordic coven can travel at very high speed. Marius the head werewolf can turn into a massive half man half wolf monster.
A View: Unfortunately I was mostly confused and did not quite understand why the vampires were killing each other at just the time when they should have been getting together to beat the Lycans. Selene was a slinky as ever, but Theo James as David confused me into thinking I was watching Divergent. I watched this outing because I sort of collect the sets, but really unless you have seen the others go back to the first. It is much better than this one.
