Elevator Pitch: A couple of hillbillies go to their newly purchased cabin in the woods in West Virginia, incidentally towing a wood chipper with their pick-up. On their first night they are fishing in a small boat when a bunch of young people are skinny dipping in the lake, and one young woman falls in a hits her head. They rescue her and take her back to their cabin initiating a sequence of events based on the fact that the kids think that she has been abducted. In their efforts to rescue her some of them are accidentally killed, skewering themselves on pointy sticks, accidentally shooting themselves and diving into the wood chipper. Meanwhile Dale and Allison, the rescued young woman become friends. How will it all end?

Content: No sex or nudity, although Allison wears jeans cut so low it is difficult to see how she keeps them up. Tucker drinks beer more or less constantly. As Tucker and Dale take the college kids on the latter terminate themselves in a number of bloody and ingenious ways until finally their leader captures Allison and ties her to a circular saw table as in James Bond.  This requires Dale to rescue her.

A View:  This film was generally well thought of and was a very low budget outing. Even so it does not seem to have made any money, maybe due to its limited release which actually took place three years after it had been made. When I started watching I was pretty doubtful about it, but gradually took the joke on board. So it is a one joke movie, but quite a good one, which is sustained throughout. It could easily have derailed itself. If you fancy a sort of reverse slasher movie which does not go on for too long, give it a go.

This film might actually be unique but others which it is poking fun at which have been reviewed here include: Final Destination, Cabin Fever 2, Friday the 13th .
