Elevator Pitch: Molly Wright became obsessed with aliens when she helped a baby one escape from the Men in Black. Subsequently in adulthood she finally chases down the MIB headquarters, and as a reward is taken on as Agent M, a trainee. Meanwhile High T and H battle with an alien invasion on top of the Eiffel Tower. On a night out with an alien, M is given a crystal which turns out to be able to transmute into a super power weapon. H and M are hunted by two shape shifting aliens who want the crystal. Later they discover that High T (is this a pun?) is not to be trusted and so the game continues.
Content: No sex or nudity. We follow Molly Wright’s life in brief, as she tried to run MIB headquarters to earth. There are whole load of scenes incidentally involving aliens. The shape shifting twins, who can appear as pure energy, are chasing H and M in order to recover the crystal which changes now and again into a glowing weapon. The MIBs ride about on a flying motor bike and travel from country to country in a sort of subterranean metro. There is an almost incidental scene in the fortress of a woman previously one of H’s girlfriends.
A View: The critics did not really think much of this, although Helmsworth and Thompson’s chemistry was praised. Apparently they were in the Thor stuff together. As for me, I found myself constantly waiting for the plot to shape up as the film made the most of the CGI that is available now, offering us a lot of unusual aliens. It is possible that because Molly was aware of aliens before she was recruited she was not surprised by anything she came across, a whole area of fun missed. So in terms of my review standards, you could have it on while doing something else.
This is a fairly light-hearted alien romp, others in the same tone reviewed on this site might include: Paul, Race to Witch Mountain and Evolution.
