Elevator Pitch |
Cold Rock is a former mining town in the middle of nowhere, USA. The inhabitants mostly live in poorly maintained trailers and the men spend their time beating up their wives and drinking in the one bar in the place. Now and again a child disappears, rumoured to be abducted by a spooky figure, “The Tall Man”. One day the town nurse returns home to find her child has been abducted but, as she follows the trail, it seems that things are not as they first appeared. |
Content |
There is domestic violence and some drinking. The children play about in the detritus of the trailer encampment amongst the derelict cars. There are chases in the dark and shadowy figures are seen. The police investigate mostly without success. |
A View |
This is quite an atmospheric work and as some of the critics have said, only saved from straight to video by some unexpected plot twists. It isn’t fantastic but a watch if you enjoy spooky stuff which is not too frightening. |
