Plot of Outcome: Reef Hawk is a well loved film star, who started in the business as a child. He is supported by his two oldest friends Kyle and Xander who were at college with him. He has recently returned from five years out of the spotlight during which he has managed to get himself off being addicted to heroin. He gets a call from his personal lawyer and fixer, Ira, who calls him to a meeting where he finds out that someone has a video involving him which will be released unless he pays millions of dollars. The meeting involves a number of experts in aspects of star publicity and it is agreed that Reef will identify all the people he can think of who he has wronged in the past. He thinks of about three people, but his assistant comes up with many. Reef starts out on a marathon of apology which includes his mother who hosts a reality show. She insists that it be played out on set. And more, none of it seems to be going well.

Content: No sex or nudity, although (just a bit of a spoiler) a young woman says to Reef, ‘would you like to see my tits’. Reef spends a lot of time being reassured by his supportive friends, and being brought down to earth by his assistant. He attends Ira’s meetings at which Ira is toe-curlingly awful. Then he starts out on the round of apologies which does not go well, since many of those involved do not really seem to understand what he is apologising for. He insists that he has never filmed himself or been filmed while involved with anyone else, so what can the video be about.

A View: What a stellar cast and how smart they all are. I could see what the film was attempting to achieve but as far as I could tell it missed the target by a mile. Of course I may be wrong, I have virtually no involvement in social media and am an aged Brit, so I am almost as far away from the intended audience as it is possible to be. But even allowing for that you would think I might have got a bit of a laugh out of it, since I am a bit of a film buff. No I did not. As I waited for entertainment it dragged out its hour and thirty minutes and came to an end. It was awful.

Fun Fact: It is available on Spanish TV dubbed into Spanish. I cannot imagine what the Spanish made of it.
