Elevator Pitch |
At the dawn of time the Minions emerge from the primordial ooze ready to serve any evil master they find. Over the centuries they have limited success and retire to a glacial environment where they become depressed. Kevin, Bob and Stuart embark on a voyage of exploration, ending up at Villain Con in Orlando, where they gain the opportunity to serve super-villainess Scarlet Overkill. They are to help her steal the Crown Jewels. Will they at last be successful? |
Content |
Quite a bit of narration of Minion development. Scenes of the Minions helping? figures from history. They are recruited at Villain Con – apparently similar to Comic Con. They move to London were the plot unfolds and they are involved with the queen – it is 1968. Bob becomes king. Later all the Minions join the trio in London. |
A View |
This very successful movie received mixed reviews, many critics saying that if you have seen the trailer you have seen the film, so I watched the trailer. Not quite true I thought, but still not a patch on the Gru movies. Let’s face it, comedies about attempts to steal the Crown Jewels sometimes with the thief becoming king are pretty common, but fairly watchable family viewing. |
