A young Scottish aristocrat, falls for a young woman who emigrates to America, so he follows and begins a hazardous journey westwards. He is befriended by an outlaw, who unbeknown to him has a relationship with the woman who is now also an outlaw. Will the young man survive in the kill or be killed environment of the old west?
Content
The duo trek across the landscape taking in rivers, woods and desert. They camp and interact with other travellers and woodsmen. There are a number of shoot-outs working up to a dramatic finale. No sex or nudity, but quite a bit of drinking.
A View
This outing was on my list of films to watch, but I had ignored it for ages. The story was not that appealing; this might be why it did not make much money and may not have covered its costs, despite its limited budget. But actually it is a fantastic film, the New Zealand landscape making it quite surreal. If you enjoy unusual westerns don’t miss it.
