Elevator Pitch |
The world is at peace due to the activities of Iron Man but his alter ego Tony Stark is dying and is depressed due to problems with his atomic heart. Additionally, when a Russian scientist develops an alternative power system and attempts to destroy Tony, the government tries to take ownership of the suit. When a rival arms manufacturer teams up with the Russian in an effort to build his own suit, Iron Man is forced to man up. |
Content |
A terrific opening sequence to the music of AC/DC as Iron Man engages in PR. The Russian uses his eletronic whips to destroy racing cars at Monaco. There are a number of Iron Man battles of increasing ferocity, and some hand to hand combat involving Black Widow. No sex, but a bit of smooching between Tony and Pepper and some drinking at times. |
A View |
It cost a fortune, and looked like it but in the end made quite a lot of money. I enjoyed it all except maybe the attempts to shoehorn references to the “Avengers” which the director did not like either. Probably a must watch if you are a superhero fan, and not unacceptable if you aren’t. |
