Cleaner (2007)

Duration 1h 28m Rating (UK) 15
Source of story An original screenplay
Writer/s Script Matthew Aldrich
Director Renny Harlin
Starring Samuel L Jackson, Ed Harris, Eva Mendes, Luis Guzman,
Elevator Pitch A former police officer, now cleaning up crime scenes, takes on a job of cleaning up a homicide in a mansion, but later finds that he has been tricked into doing the job, and the probable victim has disappeared, putting him in the frame for murder. The only solution is for him to investigate the murder himself.
Content Many scenes with the cleaner, now a widower, at odds with his teenage daughter. He cleans up in a variety of unpleasant environments., and is chased about by the cops. Some interaction with the missing man’s wife and with his former partner who is still a policeman. A bit of drinking but no drugs, sex or nudity.
A View This is dull stuff, and makes me wonder if it actually takes a couple of car chases and a bit of sex to liven up any film, since there is none of either in this one. It never went on general release in the USA and made small money elsewhere. I only watched it because it fitted into the time I had available, but you don’t have to.
