Elevator Pitch |
Out in the world Ares, the god of war ferments conflict and on the secret island of Themyscira a race of Amazons train with swords and archery with the intent of controlling him. When an American spy crashes his plane close to the island, pursued by the German navy the two world collide, and the godess Diana is forced to accompany the man back into World War I with the intent of killing the evil god. |
Content |
A lot of time in exposition and the Amazon boot camp. A number of battles starting with the one on the island’s beach, then the front in France and more. Lots of explosions. Some minor humour relating to Diana’s unfamiliarity with the world. Time in the war office in London and the evil German gas making factory. Obviously a lot of ladies in leather gear, a bit of male nudity, and I think they sip a beer once. |

I don’t know quite how to say this but I’ll try “This is complete nonsense”. I think that if you are going to have Gods in the real world then the real world should be real, so how on earth did the Germans find the secret island? Where the hell is it, if Diana and the spy can sail to London overnight? And who was driving the boat anyway? How come the British spy is American? What is an Indian with a Winchester rifle doing in London? And more. If you like a bit of logic even in superhero films this might not be for you. |
