||A 1972 Wes Craven film and earlier Swedish stuff
||Adam Alleca, Carl Ellsworth
||Garret Dillahunt, Michael Bowen, Josh Coxx, Riki Lindhome, Aaron Paul, Sara Paxton, Monica Potter, Tony Goldwyn
||A couple staying in their isolated holiday home think their 17 year old daughter is staying with a friend in the nearby town, but in reality she and the friend have been abducted by a gang of criminals, raped, stabbed, shot and left for dead. The gang then find their way to the parent’s house, saying they have had an accident and are invited to stay. What will happen when the parents find out who they are?
||There is constant tension throughout and much violence as the girls are violated and later as the parents are forced to defend themselves with a variety of weapons. Some female nudity.
||The original is famous and I started watching this without realising that it was a remake. This version has been turned into a thriller rather than an exploitation movie I think and is no worse for that. It is still a difficult watch although it descends into melodrama by the end.
