A not very original screenplay, since John Carpenter took Luc Besson to court due to the similarities between this work and the “Escape” duo. He won $450,000

Elevator Pitch
In the future a high security prison in Earth orbit is taken over by the prisoners, with the US President’s daughter, who is on an investigative mission, on board. A black ops CIA man, who has been accused of treason, is offered his freedom if he can rescue her. But the accusations are false, so is everything as it seems back on Earth.
Content
Mostly the mismatched couple dashing about in the corridors of the prison being chased by the bad guys and exchanging fire with automatic weapons. Quite a few people are shot including all the hostages. Some time in the Earth control room. There is a subplot concerning secret information but it is virtually irrelevant. No sex, nudity, drugs or alcohol.
A View
An undemanding outing with Guy Pearce in what looks like a Jason Statham role and he does well. If you like Luc Besson stuff you will find this watchable. It did not get much of a distribution, but was low budget so covered its costs.
