Elevator Pitch Two boys with a small boat at their disposal, find a cabin cruiser stranded in the branches of a tree on a Mississippi island, and then a man hiding out, due he says, to having killed a man while defending his girlfriend. The man has a plan to float the boat, and enlists the help of the boys. But time may be running out for him as hired vigilantes close in.
Content A lot of time on the river, and on the island in scenes, as many have remarked, straight out of Huckleberry Finn. Scenes in the boy’s parent’s houseboat as their relationship falls apart. Very little violence but don’t forget about the hired vigilantes. No sex or nudity.
A View I should say from the start that this movie garnered an amazing 98% from the critics on Rotten Tomatoes and seems to have made some money, but the dialogue is just a bit difficult for those of us not from the southern states. However it is very visual.
