Zombieland

Released 2009 Rating (UK) 15
Source of story Apparently a proposal for a TV show
Writer/s script Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick
Director Ruben Fleischer
Starring Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, Abigail Breslin, Bill Murray
Elevator Pitch It’s a road trip in a zombie infested America, as a student teams up with a redneck and they travel across the country. They meet with, and a scammed by, a couple of sisters more than once, before circumstances require them all to team up to survive.
Content An almost constant battle with the zombies who are dispatched by a variety of weapons, from garden shears to machine guns. A lot of time on the highway both completely empty and amid wrecked cars. A breathing space in Bill Murray’s house where just a bit of smooching takes place.
A View The zombies eat each other which is a bit unnerving if you are of a delicate disposition, and their dispatch is pretty brutal. But if you can deal with that it’s a fun movie, and is one of the few to exceed its development costs on its opening weekend.
