Daddy Day Care

Released 2003 Rating PG in UK
Director Steve Carr Writer/s Geoff Rodkey
Starring Eddie Murphy, Jeff Garlin, Steve Zahn, Regina King, Anjelica Huston, Elle Fanning
Source of story An original screenplay
Elevator Pitch When two executives from a food company lose their jobs, their wives go out to work and they stay home to look after the children, starting their own day care business. The initial chaos becomes more ordered over time and they withstand formal inspections and the predations of a rival highly organised day care centre.
Content Lots of children causing chaos in a quite luxurious family home. Some smart talk between husbands and wives, children and adults, guys and inspectors.
A View The joke about two fathers not really knowing how to look after children soon wears thin and actually there is nothing else. The critics debated as to whether this was the low point of Eddie Murphy’s career. IMDB estimated that it cost a lot, which mostly must have been his salary, but it made money. Watch while doing something else – but only if desperate.
