Elevator Pitch |
Stephen Hawking is a young brilliant theoretical scientist whose life is predicted to be short when he is diagnosed with motor-neurone disease. But he has married a dynamic young woman who helps him survive and thrive, and with him has three children. When he is assigned a young nurse and she meets a sympathetic music teacher, their relationships change. |
Content |
Really a constant focus on the scientist as he gradually ceases to be ambulant and is confined to a wheel chair, and then a mechanical chair, and then is forced to use an electronic voice – now the man’s trademark. The other aspects of the plot are really afterthoughts. |
A View |
Eddie Redmayne rightly won endess awards for “Best Actor”, rather leaving the rest of the cast, and actually the story in the shade. So watch this if you want to see someone acting a person with motor-neuron disease really well. |
