Elevator Pitch |
Shortly after Alan Bennet moves into a substantial house in Camden he almost accidentally comes to the aid of an oldish lady who lives in a van on the street. He allows her to park in his driveway for three months, and she stays for 15 years. |
Content |
Lots of entertaining Bennetesque dialogue, and although Miss Shepherd always looks extremely grubby one is only put off by the discussion about, and views of, shit. |
A View |
A really delightful film because, as always Alan Bennet writes clever witty scripts, and Maggie Smith does a wonderful job. The critics really liked it but the general audience were not quite so sure. Maybe you have to be English. |
