Elevator Pitch A Roman general and his family are casualties when an Emperor is murdered by his son, and it is necessary for him to fight for his freedom in gladiatorial combat.
Content Lots of combat with swords and spears and involving wild animals since much of the film concentrates on the arena. Some minor sexual references.
A View Terrific stuff, and maybe Russell Crowe’s best film. Also Oliver Reed’s last since he died during the filming. A really entertaining couple of hours.
