Action, Fantasy - Superheroes

Kick Ass

Released 2010 Rating 15 in UK
Director Matthew Vaughn Writer/s Jane Goldman, Matthew Vaughn
Starring Aaron Johnson, Mark Strong, Chloe Grace Moretz, Nicholas Cage
Source of story Graphic novel by Mark Miller and John Romita Jr
Elevator Pitch A geeky teenage boy decides to become a superhero, but is frequently beaten until he meets Hit Girl and Big Daddy who are conducting a war against the drug barons.
Content Frequent violence with firearms and edged weapons, often carried out by a 10 year old girl. The hero is surprised to find himself on quite intimate terms with an attractive young woman, because she thinks he is gay. Lots of swearing.
A View This weird superhero film does not, in my view, put a foot wrong, right up to the fantastic finale, which takes place to the accompaniment of Elvis Presley’s American Trilogy.
