Elevator Pitch A minor record company executive is given the task of getting a burnt out British rock and roll idol from London to New York for a Today Show interview and then onwards to Los Angeles for a concert at the Greek. Failure will not be tolerated, but even so three days of drug and alcohol fuelled excess makes success unlikely.
Content An almost continuous succession of set pieces containing drug taking, drinking, drunkeness, sex and nudity interspaced with some rather rude or ridiculous videos, some fun interviews and a number of pretty good rock numbers.
A View I was ready to dislike this, not liking Russell Brand’s public persona at the time, but instead I really enjoyed it, and surprisingly so did the critics. There is good music and for me “The Clap” really stood out with its African drumming accompaniment. A fun watch if you are not easily offended.
