Elevator Pitch |
A young man and his step-father embark on an adventure to locate a mysterious island, on which they think his grandfather is marooned. They get there in a helicopter flown by a local man and his daughter, but a hurricaine maroons them on the island. There are strange reversals in the animal world putting them in danger, but they are rescued by the grandfather, and when it seems that the island is to be destroyed their only hope is to find Captain Nemo’s submarine. |
Content |
A lot of chases as giant lizards are woken, and birds attempt to eat the giant bees on which the survivors are riding. Some underwater excitement in search of the submarine. The grandfather is folksy and the young people look soulfully at each other but there is no sex or nudity. |
A View |
I thought that this movie was absolutely terrible. Who could it possibly entertain? Teenagers would be bored by it and younger children might possibly be frightened. The critics and I are for once in agreement, but even so it made quite a bit of money and so there are sequels. |
