Elevator Pitch |
The villains, now manufacturing an addictive drug, are proving to be more than a match for RoboCop, who at one point is dismembered by the gang, and it is only on the insistence of the police that the corporation re-assembles him. But his vulnerability has prompted “The Old Man” to initiate the development of another model using the brain of a criminal. It’s just as well that Robo was rebuilt. |
Content |
Many shoot outs in a variety of locations but mostly in an abandoned warehouse/factory area. The scene as Robo is dismembered quite distressing. Also a bit of ad hoc surgery in the gang’s lair. Time spent in the corporation’s laboratory where Robo is rebuilt. No sex or nudity. |
A View |
Some possible plot lines were allowed to trail away during the development of the story, but it still remains an interesting view of dystopian society, and considering it was released in 1990 quite predictive of Detroit’s later troubles. Not much liked by the critics but it made money and there is a sequel. Worth your time, but watch the first one first. |
