Elevator Pitch |
An unscruplous media billionaire sets up an internet event where a group of condemned men (and women) from the death cells of south American prisons are to fight each other to the death on a tropical island, with the last left alive winning his freedom. One of them is an innocent black ops specialist, with a wife back home, but will his honest approach allow him to survive. |
Content |
A lot of violence, much of it looking a bit like wrestling, until the controllers of the event provide weapons. Most of the contestants (for want of a better word) are blown up. |
A View |
The Hunger Games this isn’t. The plot is extremely simple but even suspending my disbelief I could not accept that the billionaire would have set up his camp and control room on the same island as the contestants. So generally awful, but probably the high point of Vinnie Jones’s movie career. |
