Elevator Pitch |
A military assassin who we see killing a guerilla leader in Kosovo during the Balcan wars, is unable to return to normal life, and continues to kill hunters in the woods of Oregon. A retired FBI survival expert, who trained the killer, is called in to track him down, ending with a chase through the city of Portland both being required to use their survival skills. |
Content |
Some extreme violence, particularly in Kosovo as ordinarly people are machine gunned. Time spent in the woods as the protragonists sneak about testing their survival and killing skills. Chases on foot through unrban areas. Martial arts fights usually with knives. |
A View |
I could almost go for the assassin making a knife out of a steel bar as we get to the climax, but surely the man on his trail could have bought one instead of having to make one out of a piece of flint. An ultimately unsatisfactory outing, maybe because we were never quite sure whose side we were supposed to be on. Did not cover its costs, particuarly since TLJ was apparently paid $20,000,000 for his role. |
