Elevator Pitch |
A posse of Texas Rangers chase a gang of criminals into the desert, and all are killed apart from one who is rescued by an Indian. The gang abduct the Ranger’s sister-in-law and nephew and so the ranger, now masked to hide his identity, and the Indian pursue them. Meanwhile there is underhand dealing during the development of the railroad, and at a secret silver mine. |
Content |
There is a lot of time spent treking about in the desert and setting up the plot, before the Lone Ranger gets the mask. People get shot. There is a brothel but no related activity on screen. Some gun battles at the silver mine and a completely insane chase on the railroad. |
A View |
This was panned by the American critics but the British and the general public liked it better. It was a bit dull in the middle, and too long, but I enjoyed much of it and laughed quite a bit, so now it’s a cheap or free watch don’t be put off. |
