| Elevator Pitch |
A rich LA gallery owner, whose husband is cheating on her, and who discarded her aspiring novelist first husband 20 years earlier, receives a proof of a manuscript from him and starts to read it. We follow the story within a story as a family travelling throught the night are driven off the road and attacked by a trio of yahoos. Could it be an allegory of their life? |
| Content |
Some nudity of an unusual sort in the title sequence. A lot of close ups of Susan reading the manuscript, and the progress of the story within a story which is unpleasantly violent and full of tension. Some flashbacks to Susan and Edward in youth as their marriage is derailed. |
| A View |
At the time of the viewing this seems like a workmanlike and artistic movie, and as such had received a lot of positive reviews. I have also read some reviews of the book and it is evident that a lot has been changed. For instance the location of the story within a story has been relocated from New England to Texas, and what happened to CSI West Texas anyway? Can’t say more! |
