| Elevator Pitch |
When the inhabitants of a small western town are threatened by a violent mine owner, determined to steal their land, they turn to a gunman to save them. He recruits six others and they and the townsfolk take on the massed forces the dastardly capitalist is capable of mustering. |
| Content |
The recruiting of the seven is moderately violent, and after that things really get going, with almost continuous gun battles, explosions, blood and guts. |
| A View |
This version includes a South Korean, a native Alaskan, a Mexican and a black leader. It is quite difficult to tell one bearded and grubby gunman/townsperson from another particuarly amid the dust and detritus. If you saw the original you won’t like this remake, which is actually a poor version of Pale Rider, and like other of today’s offerings, the script abandons the logic it has developed for a grandstand finale. |
