Elevator Pitch |
In prohibition era America two rival gang bosses vie for control of the city. The advisor to one forms an ill advised association with his boss’s girlfriend, resulting in him possibly having to change sides. |
Content |
A lot of intense dialogue, and explosions and gunfights with Thompson submachine guns, and executions with hand guns including very large revolvers. No sex, but some has apparently taken place. |
A View |
My recent viewing of this is not my first, but the second shot at it, requiring quite a bit of concentration has been more rewarding. So obviously if you pay attention you will be rewarded. Even so I couldn’t see this being an 18 today. Despite the current popularity of the Coens it does not seem to have got anywhere near covering its moderate costs. |
