Source of story |
A variation on the Sleeping Beauty story. With more changes than one can enumerate. |
Elevator Pitch |
A good witch turned bad, curses the king’s new born daughter, saying that if she has her finger pricked by the needle on a spinning wheel she will sleep for ever, unless she is kissed by someone who truly loves her. The child spends time with the witch who comes to love her, but the curse must be fulfilled. |
Content |
Lots of twinkling fairies in the fairy kingdom. Some dark and brooding scenes, with the witch looking suitably evil. Some minor violence with swords. |
A View |
In the end not a great reworking of whichever version of the original this was. Being Disney good must triumph over evil, and we wonder in the end who is evil and who is not. It seemed to me that this requirement spoilt what might have been a good idea. But kids might like it (as long as guided by their parents). |
