| Elevator Pitch |
An architect has designed a high rise building where as you get nearer the top the residents become richer. He lives in the penthouse with a large garden, and space enoug for a horse. Conversely as you get nearer the bottom the spaces become more cramped and the facilities less luxurious. A recent arrival, Robert Laing, is soon having sex with a lady two floors above. It is the beginning of a descent into madness as everyone in the building seems to lose their grip on civilisation. |
| Content |
Well – what was not contained. And it just shows how the censor’s view of what is acceptable has changed since this film, with multiple sex scenes and a general air of debauchery and violence only requires a 15 certificate. |
| A View |
I found it interesting, and very much in the J.G.Ballard style, although to be honest some of his stuff is almost intolerable. It would be an acquired taste. If your taste runs to arthouse with sex and violence then give it a go. Anyway, if you are watching for nothing you’ll get the idea from the opening scene. |
