Plot of Bulletproof: Rock Keats and Achie Moses are best friends. Rock steals cars sometimes with the assistance of Moses, whose main job is smuggling drugs and laundering money for Frank Colton, who runs a car dealership as a cover. But unbeknown to Archie, Keats is actually an undercover cop called Jack Carter. The truth is revealed when the police are carrying out a raid on Colton’s warehouse, and with Moses and Carter levelling pistols at each other, Moses accidentally shoots Carter in the head and escapes. Carter is brought back to fitness with the assistance of Dr Traci Flynn, and the two become an item. Later Moses is captured in the boondocks and Carter is sent to bring him back to LA. But forces are against them, and various heavily armed groups attempt to eliminate them. They are always traced by the bad guys as attempts are made to kill Moses. How are they always being traced, they wonder. As time passes their friendship gradually re-establishes itself as they must fight to survive, but it seems to be all over when Colton captured Traci.

Content: No sex or nudity, apart from some in the background as the two guys are sheltering in a desert motel. Keats steals a Ferrari, followed by a car chase through the streets. Colton’s warehouse raid involved a lot of gunfire. When Carter is bringing Moses back to LA they end up as the only people alive in a plane, but fortunately Moses can fly, and lands it in the desert. Every time Carter gets help it turns out to be fake, including FBI men in Colton’s pay, but fortunately Moses remembers the names from Colton’s records. Except for the name of Carter’s boss, which he might have got wrong – but too late.

A View: The critics did not like this outing, well the few who saw it that is. All I can say is that they have been protected from some of the dross I have watched. This film followed a well worn path which originated with the wonderful Midnight Run, buddies on either side of the law, with all sorts of villains on their track. It was quite good fun and had a beginning a middle and an end and a plot I understood. ‘It was fine’, as Penny said.  I always take issue with the car chases, where crappy old police cars keep up with brand new supercars. No! But other than that, a watch for nothing is you like Adam Sandler.

Fun Fact: The director said that the film was ‘castrated’ because of the producers.
