The Plot of the Jurassic Games: Ten convicted murderers are set up to participate in a game where they are pitted against prehistoric creatures and each other. Only one is supposed to survive. They are standing in a studio wearing masks which make them seem to be in a world where they must progress through various phases, the result seen on screens in the studio and in the homes of the viewers. When they are killed in the game they receive a lethal injection in the studio. Among the contestants is a man who is possibly innocent of the crime, having been incorrectly found guilty of killing his wife. There are two young women who have killed men, one a number. As they progress through the game the contestants are picked off, some by the dinosaurs, some by the other contestants. Who will win?
Content: There is no sex or nudity, or drugs or drinking. We see the people in the studio with the master of ceremonies being able to move into the game’s environment to give instructions to the players. Within moments of the start one of the players is swallowed by a T.Rex. Now and again there are traps set by one of the contestants for another but mostly they just plod on through the various environments.
A View: How did this thing even get to our cable channel? It just shows they will play anything. But trying to be a bit constructive, there is a problem with the plot in that the contestants have the creatures to deal with as well as each other, and the two aspects do not fit well together. But honestly this is not a film to bother with. There are plenty more, even of the same genre. Don’t be attracted by the “so bad it’s good” possibility. It is just so bad.
Fun Fact: There is no Rotten Tomatoes review, or Wikipedia item. There is tension. Are Joy’s trousers are going to fall down?
