Elevator Pitch During a Thanksgiving celebration in the suburbs of an un-named American town two young girls are abducted. The police investigation moves slowly causing the fathers to take action against a suspect themselves, but time is passing and no-one seems to be getting anywhere.
Content A lot of driving about in heavy rain, the suspect held in captivity by the fathers is violently assaulted, the detective in charge of the case is frustrated by lack of support but works away using historic information about paedophiles gradually putting it all together. Almost continuous tension.
A View I had never heard about this movie so did not know what to expect so I was distressed throughout its lengthy running time. I usually go for lighter stuff. Difficult to say more without unwanted revelations but it was well liked by the critics and the general public. You know what to expect now.
