| Elevator Pitch | A former criminal recently released on probation when his car, with the son in it, is hijacked. The cost of getting the boy back from a fearsome gang leader is the proceeds of a robbery, which the father does not have. He is hence required to carry out a number of robberies, assisted by a young woman he has hooked up, with in order to raise the ransom. | ||
| Content | A lot of violence, spectacularly involving a machette (I had to look away), and a number of gun battles. An extended car chase, and one implied sex scene. | ||
| A View | Since I come from a completely different world I don’t know whether the depictions of gang culture are realistic, but they certainly look like it. And in the middle of it all there is a romance between the two main characters which creeps up on you. Interesting and alarming! | ||
