| Elevator Pitch |
In 1951 the Manager of Capitol Pictures in LA tries to keep the lid on a variety of problems involving their productions, including the pregnancy of a “water” film star, the miscasting of a cowboy in a period drama and the abduction of the star of the biblical epic Hail Caesar before the final scene. |
| Content |
A number of really impressive sequences from the films within the film and much moderately entertaining dialogue |
| A View |
The hour and forty five minutes passes easily enough, but the trailer said it all. Each strand of the plot is effectively dumped in an unsatisfactory manner, even though they are initially interesting. And I only smiled a couple of times, although some critics claim to have been laughing continuously. |
