Lake Placid vs Anaconda (2015)

The plot of Lake Placid vs Anaconda: Jim Bickerman, a survivor from the previous Lake Placid misfortunes, helps a boss of a pharma company in her ambition to combine the attributes of a giant crocodile and a giant anaconda. In their large semi-trailer a sedated giant croc has its blood sampled, and giant anacondas are injected. However, the croc wakes up, and creates havoc eventually blowing up the semi-trailer allowing the snakes, and apparently many rapidly growing crocs to escape. Meanwhile a group of young sorority applicants are going through their initiation on a beach and a couple of guys take some out in their speed boat. Sherriff Reba of Black Lake and Will Tull, the Fish and Wildlife man, are out there with firearms, looking for Tull’s daughter, who is one of the sorority girls. The deputy sheriff is also clearing the beaches of holiday makers as the threat heightens.  Sarah Murdoch, the pharma company boss and a couple or cohorts are also looking for the anacondas. In this environment girls are chomped by the crocs, and the anacondas  squash crocs, people and a BMW.

Content: There is sex, but no actual nudity although the dozen or so sorority girls are clad solely in very brief bikinis . A number of them are eaten by the marauding crocodiles, as well as the couple having sex. Some crocodiles are squeezed by the anacondas till they explode. The deputy is a bit of an idiot and Jim Bickerman is a survivor no matter what happens to him. Sarah Murdoch’s main assistant is swallowed whole by an anaconda. There is no drinking or drug taking.

A View: I said in my last review of Sucker Punch that no matter what you wanted from the film it did not deliver, so surely exactly the opposite is true in this case. The villains are, in the main, eaten by the crocodiles, the girls prance about in their bikinis, the anacondas squeeze people and things and there is a lot of blood, although not enough according to one critic. But, in my view, it delivers exactly what you would expect. So if any of this sort of stuff lights your fire you could give it a view.

Fun Fact:  The film was made in Bulgaria, and many cast members were Bulgarian.
