The Plot of Resident Evil 6: Alice regains consciousness in the ruins of The White House and escapes from a flying monster in a Humvee before being captured by the evil Dr Isaacs, CEO of the Umbrella Corporation travelling in an armoured and well armed vehicle. It turns out that the T-Virus was developed as a means of combating disease and the side effect was turning people into zombies. However Isaacs has determined that its spread will allow the world to reboot. Meanwhile Alice is contacted by the Red Queen (The Umbrella Corp computer) who tells her that she has 48 hours to recover an ant-virus from “The Hive” the Umbrella Corp headquarters. Alice escapes from Dr Isaacs and joins a group of human survivors who inhabit the remains of a tower in Racoon City. He recruits them to join her in her attack on the Hive, the entrance to which is now in a vast crater, protected by zombie dogs. The group are gradually picked off, and things come to ahead inside the Hive where there is a final showdown.

Content: No sex or nudity, of drug taking or drinking. A whole new back story is trotted out which might confuse some, or would be fine if you have not seen any of the other films. The armoured vehicles trundle along towards Racoon City, one of them containing what turns out to be a clone of Isaacs. Alice fights people on one of them and escapes on a motor cycle. In the city she and the other humans fabricate a defence against the armoured vehicles. By now the swarms of zombies are just an irritant. There are frequent scenes in the control centre of the Hive where various defences are initiated, particularly as the humans get close. An enhanced Dr Isaacs is revived from hypersleep to take on Alice. They fight more than once.

A View: This movie made money, over twice its production cost for its first weekend in China. Wow! But the critics did not like it much. Like some of the other of the franchise the writer/director chose to completely rewrite the back story again. I liked the armoured vehicles even though their extraordinary fire power seemed to do them no good, while the human’s cobbled together bombs were totally effective. There was a lot of hand to hand fighting, in part because Alice does not have any firearms until near the end, and it is wearing. It has also in the main allowed the writer to virtually dispense with dialogue. So despite the constant action, this film is no fun. I watched it to complete the set, but you don’t have to.

Fun Fact: The Red Queen is played by Anderson and Jovovich’s daughter, Ever, who in the end had more dialogue than anyone else in the film.
