Plot of Slayers: A bunch of influencers is a variety of fields are invited to an isolated mansion for a party, but on the road they are stopped and warned by a scruffy bearded guy that if they go on they will be in danger. They take no notice. However, once in the mansion, almost without notice a couple of the group are picked off by vampires in sprays of blood. Liz, one of the influencers is convinced to become one of the undead by injection and Jack enters a VR world where he meets Stephen Rektor, legendary billionaire and, unknown to Jack, the dark lord of the vampire clan. Meanwhile Flynn, a famous gamer, escapes and together with Elliot, the scruffy bearded guy, return to the mansion armed with crossbows and more, to take on the vampire clan.
Content: No sex or nudity and maybe a bit of social drinking. There is a sort of video game content, with a “score” at the bottom of the screen. At the start a couple of teenager girls accept an invitation to a party in a hotel room, bad idea suggested by the narrator and it is. The influencers travel in cool bus to the mansion and once inside things become a bit spooky. When the vampires attack Flynn escapes and back in Elliot’s motor home she learns the history of the vampire clan, and the fact that their bodies wear out and must be replaced. That, it seems is what is going on. Elliot and Flynn return to the mansion and we see the humans scoring wins. Flynn has a camera on her crossbow and is broadcasting the hunt live.
A View: This film was made during COVID and one wonders whether this was just a group of actors getting together and deciding to do something during what was an awful time for us all. Well, perhaps they should be complimented for that and I could see that the intent was that the real hunt should be broadcast and collect viewers around the world, we’ve seen other films do this. However it was not achieved, maybe because of the covid restrictions, so the final result was pretty dire. So in the end a terrible film which you should not watch, even if you are a “comedy horror” enthusiast.
Fun Fact: Filmed in 11 days! Surely a record for a theatrical release.
