Plot of Warhunt: In 1945 Major Johnson sends out a platoon of American soldiers, including one special services fort of guy, behind the lines to recover secret stuff from a crashed American aircraft. They make their way through the forest to find that there are German soldiers hanging in the trees, covered in strange signs. One is alive and is captured. As they progress their compasses give up and strange things start to happen. One of the soldiers is seduced by a young woman who appears somehow before him, but he shoots her. The plane is found and secret film recovered. But that may not be the real reason why they are there, since they are joined by Major Johnson who seems to be intent of discovering a witch’s coven.
Content: Sex is implied and a naked woman, or could she be a witch, seen for the rear. The soldiers trek through the forest, and strange things happen. What seem to be witches appear through smoke. The squad is gradually reduced. Johnson joins the remains of the squad and they embark on a new mission to find the tree of life. It seems to be in a forest hut. The remaining soldiers are intent on using gas to incapacitate the witches, but will it work.
A View: I watched all of this outing, called Warhunt, not a million miles away from Witchhunt. I don’t know how long it took to make, but Mickey Rourke’s part could probably have been fulfilled in a couple of days, and it seems to rely on good looking young Eastern European actresses who do not have to say anything. Unfortunately this is one of those outings which I have watched so you don’t have to. It is one of the many low budget horror films presented to us at Halloween in 2023.
Fun Fact: It seems to have achieved some fame due to having been completed during COVID.
