Plot of the Forever Purge: The annual purge continues, this one based in Texas, where a couple of illegal Mexican immigrants are working in Austin, he on a ranch, she in a meat processors. When the Purge takes place they join a group in a fortified and guarded facility and the whole thing passes off without problems. But then the Purge carried on after the close, some farm hands taking over the farm where Juan works. He and another Mexican, T.T retake the farm after an gunfight, and they and the owners, escape in a truck. Adela Juan’s partner is rescued from a police van and all go on the run towards the Mexican border which will remain open for a bit to allow the non-violent to escape. In the increasingly violent situation the Mexican border is closed, so their chances of survival are reduced, particularly when they cross a particularly violent group.

Content: No sec or nudity, or drinking or drug taking. In the police van it seems possible that a villain intends to rape Adela. I thought there might have been a bit of smoking. Apart from Adela being captured by an ingenious trap, the film progresses with a virtually continuous series of gunfights, only slightly differently presented. There is a theme of the intent of the purgers to terminate non-American people, however we see that Juan and Adela are, due to some self protection training, adept at the use of fire arms.

A View: This film seems to have made money, despite the poor reviews. I have seen and reviewed three of the four other films in the franchise and tho0ught they were OK if you like shoot’em ups, but I was gobsmacked when the free for all twelve hours ended and nothing much seemed to have happened, and once we are in a total anarchy it is downhill all the way. So give this one a miss.

Fun Fact: This film was supposed to have been the last, however apparently there is to be more, starring Frank Grillo an early character.
